Sean Penn
ActingSean Justin Penn (17 de agosto de 1960) es un actor, director de cine, guionista y activista estadounidense. Ha recibido numerosos galardones, entre los que destacan dos premios Óscar al mejor actor por sus interpretaciones en Mystic River (2003) y Milk (2008), así como un Globo de Oro al mejor actor de drama por Mystic River. Adicionalmente, ha sido premiado en los tres festivales de cine más importantes del mundo: el Festival de Cannes, el Festival de Venecia (en dos ocasiones) y el Festival de Berlín. Comenzó su carrera en la televisión con una breve aparición en la serie La casa de la pradera en 1974, dirigida por su padre Leo Penn. Hizo su debut cinematográfico en el drama militar Taps (1981) y alcanzó la popularidad juvenil interpretando al surfista Jeff Spicoli en la comedia Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Durante la década de los 80, consolidó su reputación como un actor de método intenso con papeles en Bad Boys (1983) y At Close Range (1986), antes de recibir elogios universales por su trabajo en el drama criminal Colors (1988) y la película bélica Casualties of War (1989). Desde los años 90, Penn expandió su carrera hacia la dirección con películas como The Indian Runner (1991) y The Pledge (2001). Como actor, obtuvo nominaciones al Óscar por sus actuaciones en Dead Man Walking (1995), Sweet and Lowdown (1999) e I Am Sam (2001). Otros éxitos notables incluyen Carlito's Way (1993), The Thin Red Line (1998) y su trabajo como director en la aclamada Into the Wild (2007).
